The Bibliographic Standards Committee of RBMS has recently published a new document, “Recommendations for the Creation of Harmful Metadata and/or Harmful Language Statements.” It is publicly available within the ALA Institutional Repository (https://alair.ala.org/items/23346ca4-1eea-4795-a34a-165f230fdffc).

MARC Advisory Committee (MAC)

Recordings of the MARC Advisory Committee meetings that took place on Zoom on February 18-19 are now available in the MARC Development section of the MARC website.  The recordings can be directly accessed at http://loc.gov/marc/mac/recordings.html. The next MAC meeting has been scheduled to take place online on July 22-23, 2026.

The library of esteemed Australian feminist ecophilosopher Val Plumwood (1939-2008) has recently been catalogued, with access available at https://www.plumwood.org/news/val-plumwood-library-digital-catalogue-now-available. The catalogue includes titles held with Plumwood’s papers at the ANU Archives, as well as the bulk of her library that remains in situ at her former home Plumwood Mountain.
