1. ACORD Membership
Izabela Hoang has nominated for Treasurer.
The updated Terms of Reference have been sent to ALIA for finalisation.
An Expression of Interest for ACORD membership is still to come… The committee will use upcoming conferences to target members from underrepresented groups in the sector.
2. Australian Subject Access Project (ASAP)
The results from the recent survey are currently being reviewed. There was a strong uptake, with nearly 200 responses received. Next steps: The group will put together an interim report on the findings which will then be distributed.
3. Future planning
Following on from the ToR, the committee will be taking time over the next couple of months to think about how the group should operate moving forward. The goal is to consider ACORD’s role as a special interest group, and to outline what can be achieved in 2027.
Round-up of Community of Practice and Project updates:
- Cataloguers’ Catch-Up – There will be greater delegation for these catch-ups across ACORD membership in future. Watch this space.
- Reparative Description CoP – In August, the group considered a transnational perspective as Canadian Librarian, Jennifer Browning, was invited to present. In October, Cath Ferguson will present on the schools context. The last meeting for the year in December will be a show and tell of cool news from the community.
- NSLA RDA Project – No update this month due to meeting absences.
- Schools Cataloguing CoP – The August catch-up last week was a panel discussion on genrefication facilitated by Cath Ferguson. Stay tuned for the October Meeting Snapshot for an update.
- ORDAC – Proposals are currently out for feedback for the technical working group. There will be an upcoming webinar on RDA Application Profiles.
