- Growing Communications Reach
The ACORD mailing list has surpassed 400 subscribers, reflecting the growing interest in cataloguing. The first News Digest and Meeting Snapshot have been released and received positive feedback.
- Cataloguers’ Catch-Up
The first Cataloguers’ Catch-Up in July was well attended, with over 50 attendees joining the informal discussion. The session was seen as a valued space for open conversation, and ACORD plans to organise another session soon and run them regularly.
- Schools Cataloguing Community of Practice (SCCoP) Launch
Launching 2oth August on Australian School Library Day, with the first meeting on 28th August featuring Cath Ferguson on reparative description. The session will also gather input on topics and scheduling for future meetings.
- MARC Advisory Committee (MAC) Feedback
ACORD discussed facilitating a process for gathering feedback on MAC discussion papers from the Australian cataloguing community. Practitioner input will be collected via the ACORD mailing list and forwarded verbatim to the National Library of Australia (which holds a seat on the MAC). ACORD may also endorse one or two key points from the feedback to highlight areas of particular importance.
- Rare Books Cataloguing and Trove Mapping Concerns
Further discussions have occurred since the previous meeting. ACORD and ALIA Rare Cataloguing have submitted a formal joint statement, along with supporting documentation, to Trove for their consideration and review.
- BIBFRAME Webinar
ACORD is planning to host an ALIA webinar on BIBFRAME. Stay tuned.
